I’ve a samsung LCD HDTV connected to my laptop through VGA Port. I use this TV as monitor as well.
I want to know if/and how can I record video showing on my HDTV to the laptop? My Laptop has an s-video port, if that helps?

Sorry to say, but without some heavy-duty hardware, you can’t record HD signals. And you definitely can’t pipe an HD signal thru an S-Video cable.
The best you can do is get a USB or Firewire video capture device and record video with that. Of course, it’ll be in SD quality.
