Can The Average Person Notice The Difference Between 720 And 1080 In A Hdtv?

November 21st, 2009 by Elextron | 1 Comment | Filed in HDTV

On a larger screen (50″+), most people will be able to notice the difference between a 720p and 1080p set…with some caveats.
First, you must be comparing a true 720p and 1080p set. Simply running a 720p signal to a 1080p set won’t work for this purpose because the 1080p set will upconvert all incoming signals to 1080p. Second, the only source for true 1080p video right now is blu-ray. Most TV stations that are in HD are only using 720p with only a few using 1080i.

That Corneilius dude was right!
I used that same chart to get my TV.
It’s 10ft away from a 50″ ‘720p’ TV; and 6-7ft away from a 50″ ‘1080p’ TV!

Can You Really Notice The Difference Between Hdtv And A Regular Dvd?

May 29th, 2009 by Elextron | 3 Comments | Filed in HDTV

My standard dvd player shows an amazing picture on my HDTV. I am getting an HD receiver next week and just wondering if the picture will be getting any sharper. I am told it will, but how is possible for the eyes to see anything sharper than a dvd?
For you people watching HDTV…Do you really see a difference between HDTV (HD source) and watching a regular DVD?
