I turn the TV on and the only thing that comes up is Component 1, No Signal. There is no remote so I am about to go and buy a universal remote and try to push some buttons. None of the buttons on the television will work. I tried hitting source a but nothing happens. ANy suggestions before I try to take it to a place and have to pay to get it ixed?

My tv doesn’t have a VGA port and my computer doesn’t have a DVI or Svideo port. I looked around and everyone says I should get a new video card or an adapter or something. I also saw that VGA to RCA component cords exist. Can I just buy one of those to hook the two together? I never seen it suggested so I’m hesitant to do it.
I’m looking at finally buying a hdtv, but I am a little confused. I know 1080 is the best, but some tvs say they support 1080 and 720. Is this not as good as just 1080? These tvs don’t seem as expensive as the ones that only do 1080 format.

My local retailer is having a sale and I can get the Sony KDL-46V5100 for $897.00. Or I can get the Samsung LN46B630 for $999.00. I know these are both amazing tvs and I am deffenitly getting one of them. I just need to know which is the better HDTV?
